Hello beautiful friends! I am so excited to share this office reveal because I feel like it’s been a long time coming. Back in February I decided it was time for a makeover because I wasn’t getting good utilization out of the space. Even though I had a desk I found myself working off of the kitchen table because it was more practical (and comfortable) but it obviously wasn’t efficient.
I decided to rip everything out and start from scratch. I couldn’t even believe how much stuff we were hoarding in there! My closet was filled with bins and containers so I poured everything out and weeded through every single item to see what I was going to keep and what I was getting rid of. Marie Kondo, the lifestyle expert, says that if it doesn’t “spark joy”, toss it.
THIS is the pile I had to sort though…… YIKES!
I can’t even look at this without getting serious anxiety. At some points I was so overwhelmed I would walk out of the room and close the door behind me to pretend like this enormous mess didn’t exist. I was so relieved when it was (eventually) done.
First things first, I wanted to paint the walls white because I felt like it would open up the room and give it a crisp, clean look. Pasquale deserves ALL THE accolades here because as soon as he was done painting I changed my mind and wanted to go with this Moroccan wallpaper instead. God bless him, he’s such a saint. But COME ON, it was worth it right?!
When designing this space I wanted every square inch to be purposeful and functional. I decided to make the Moroccan wall a reading nook so I have a designated area to think and brainstorm creative ideas without any distractions. Since this is one of my weak suits (I’m always multi-tasking) I have alotted time in my schedule for “quiet time” which is 1 hour a week and non-negotiable.
These pillow cases were a steal! I was looking everywhere for a cute leather pillow but they were all really pricey. I ended up finding one from this adorable online boutique and it came in a bundle with 3 other pillow cases all for $39!
An organized bookcase makes me seriously happy. I have these sturdy (and cute) 3 ring binders and a filing box for my paperwork and taxes. These storage boxes are perfect for stashing away electronics and wires that always seem to go missing.
These little tassel shelves are so cute (and cheap). I got them in both sizes so I could create a staggered look.
& there you have it! What was was once a vision is now my very own home office through hard work and sleepless nights. If you have any questions about anything from this post please reach out to me, I’d love to help!
