The Cool Girl Travel Guide: What to do in Boston

What a pretty little city.

I went on a quick couples trip last weekend and I put together a really effective itinerary to see the whole city of Boston in 3 days.

The city is basically split into sections which I’ll categorize below on my list:

Back Bay

Affluent Back Bay is a popular dining and shopping destination. Home to Newbury Street, Back Bay is flanked by historic 1800’s landmarks and well-polished locals.

Boston Public Library

The Boston Public Library needs to be on your list. It is one of the most profound historical landmarks in our country and is absolutely stunning.

Terra is inspired by earth and fire and it is located on the third floor of Eataly Boston. Everything on the menu is delicious but you must come here for the pasta!

Newbury Street

Boston’s most enchanting street filled with swanky shops and historical buildings.

Chic spot for elevated Italian cuisine. Order the mafaldine and gnocchi if you know what’s good for you.

Fenway Park

Home of the Red Sox

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

Hidden gem. World class art collection in this fifteenth century Venetian palace.

impossible burger

This is the impossible burger from Wahlburger’s and I was so excited to try it! The impossible burger is a plant based burger made from neuroscience that replicates the taste and texture of real meat. It was rave-worthy.

Hip vegan counter chain.

The Verb Hotel

Cool ass retro hotel. Didn’t stay here but I didn’t regret stopping by to see some rad art.

Beacon Hill

Charming cobblestone roads and elegant row homes. One of Boston’s most picturesque neighborhoods swelling with history and antique shops.

Acorn Street

Most charming street in Beacon Hill. You may have to wait in line for a picture though!

Tatte Bakery and Cafe

Cozy rustic spot serving coffee and bites.

Row Homes

The Liberty Hotel

Jail turned chic hotel that has 6 upscale restaurants and bars located right near Beacon Hill. The lobby turns into a nightclub on the weekends and the crowd was great. I absolutely loved this hotel and will book it again next time I come to Boston.

South End

Blackbird Doughnuts

THE doughnut spot. Get the chocolate glazed one and thank me later.

Cute little French terrace. Cus brunch without drinks is just a sad breakfast, right?

Niche Urban Garden Center

Cool little plant store tucked away on Tremont St.

Worcestor St

I saw this house buzzing around the internet and I roamed around the south end until I finally came across it!

I would love to know what you guys think and if you have any other cool places to add! My suggestion is to plan your itinerary in sections so you can really see the whole city in a small amount of time.

  • Happy Mother’s day and Sunday friends. In case you need to be reminded, you are enough and you are appreciated! What a beautiful time to be a woman. Don’t underestimate yourself, ever. You are stronger, bolder, smarter and more capable than you may realize. Cheers to females uplifting and inspiring others, the world is a better place because of you.
Sooo I crossed off 2 major items on my list and it feels like a boulder has been lifted off of my shoulders. Office makeover complete✔️and wedding venue locked down✔️ (I am so over the moon to reveal the details on this >> It’s like the boho gods curated THE most perfect location I didn’t even know existed🧚🏼‍♀️) and what perfect timing too, I was about to throw in the towel out of frustration. It seems like every venue is an over-priced catering hall with the same factory style wedding. Can’t wait to share the planning with you guys!
OH and how fun is my office chair?! I wasn’t sure about it at first but I’m obsessssed. I’ll be sharing all of the details on my blog, I didn’t get a chance to post last night but it should be up by Monday🌛🌜
  • It’s OFFICE REVEAL day! I’m so happy I could cry. Here’s one of my favorite parts of the room, my zen little nook🌱
When designing this space it was important for me to have a creative corner where I can think/read/write sans distraction. I’ve been finding it hard lately to be alone in my own thoughts because of all the stimulation and instant gratification we have right at our fingertips. Gone are the days we’re forced to stare at a wall when we’re bored🤣
My goal is to implement more time to think completely unplugged and unfiltered with just a notebook and a pen - and maybe some hot lemon water. Just like the gym, client meetings and other non-negotiables, I’m challenging myself to block out 1 hour once a week to just think. 🧘🏼‍♀️✨
Anyone have any tips/advice for meditating?
PS- my pillow cases were just $39 (for ALL four!) I’ll be posting my whole office makeover on the blog tonight. http://liketk.it/2BL5b #liketkit @liketoknow.it

  • I get a lot of questions about what the name of my blog means so I figured I’d give you a quick rundown.
5 years ago me and one of my good friends Christina (major boss babe- give her a follow @sunkissedbychris) started a fashion blog for fun. When thinking of names we tossed up the idea of “grace and vanity” but I made a typo and for some reason we liked it. That’s when @stylebygraveandvanity was born.
Fast forward to now I still have the same name but there’s different meaning attached to it. A synonym for grave means “having a matter of importance as a topic” and I think that describes 1/2 of my blog. I talk about real shit i.e. finance, career, and self improvement. The other half of my blog is keeping up with trends and fashion and all things in between. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So with that being said, if you are not subscribed to my blog go do so now because you’re not going to want to miss what’s coming! That’s not just an open invitation for women- there’s something for everyone. I’m devoted to creating valuable content that’s not just girly and empty bs.
If you’ve been following me for a while and would like me to discuss more on a certain topic, please give me your feedback below 📩
