The Cool Girl Travel Guide: What to do in the Hamptons

There’s a taboo rule amongst NYC natives who plan on spending some time out east for the summer- befriend somebody that has a house out in the Hamptons. Luckily, I can cross that off of my list. A couple of my close friends and I headed out east for the weekend and spent quality time sipping local wine, eating great food, and relaxing. Since there is so much to do, I put together a quintessential itinerary for your next chic Hamptons/Montauk retreat.

WHERE TO STAY:

The Maidstone Hotel

Swanky, scandi-style boutique hotel right in the heart of the Hamptons.

207 Main St, East Hampton, New York

The Chequit

Offering a sun terrace and views of the sea, it’s no wonder this boutique Inn was rated among the top luxury hotels in New York according to U.S. News & World Report.

WHERE TO EAT:

Wölffer Kitchen Sag Harbor

I made sure I was able to get reservations here because it definitely lives up to the hype. The menu is contemporary American with a fresh and healthy “rosé-inspired” cuisine. Make sure to get the mushroom truffle flatbread and the lobster salad wrap- both to die for.

29 Main St, Sag Harbor, New York

Maison Vivienne

A new French restaurant created by Michelin Star Executive Chef Wolfgang Ban is about to be your new favorite date night. The modern black and white interior features cathetral ceilings and del fresco dining. Order the roasted heritage chicken for 2, carved table-side.

BEST WINERY

Wölffer Estate Vineyards

Gorgeous setting resembling a classic Italian style villa. Enjoy a great atmosphere and wine tasting on the patio that overlooks the vineyard. Make sure to order the “summer in a bottle” rosé.

139 Sagg Rd, Sagaponack, New York

Best Social Scene

The Surf Lodge

Best boozy brunch – need I say more?

183 Edgemere St, Montauk, New York

Gurney’s

Definitely the go-to summer spot if you’re looking for a sophisticated day party.

290 Old Montauk Hwy, Montauk, New York

We definitely did not just come here for the insta pictures – or did we?

  • I get a lot of questions about what the name of my blog means so I figured I’d give you a quick rundown.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5 years ago me and one of my good friends Christina (major boss babe- give her a follow @sunkissedbychris) started a fashion blog for fun. When thinking of names we tossed up the idea of “grace and vanity” but I made a typo and for some reason we liked it. That’s when @stylebygraveandvanity was born.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fast forward to now I still have the same name but there’s different meaning attached to it. A synonym for grave means “having a matter of importance as a topic” and I think that describes 1/2 of my blog. I talk about real shit i.e. finance, career, and self improvement. The other half of my blog is keeping up with trends and fashion and all things in between. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So with that being said, if you are not subscribed to my blog go do so now because you’re not going to want to miss what’s coming! That’s not just an open invitation for women- there’s something for everyone. I’m devoted to creating valuable content that’s not just girly and empty bs.

These past couple of weeks have been insane and can sometimes feel like life is in the pits (😏) but I am so grateful for all of the amazing people that support me and keep me going. I decided to take on a couple interior projects🔨 while working a full time sales job📈and building my blog💻andddd planning a wedding👰🏼so basically my heads about to spin off - BUT I’ve never felt more fulfilled. This is what life is all about! I can’t wait to share the content I’ve been working on with you guys, I love and appreciate you all!
  • Happy Monday friends🌷I used to have a serious case of the Sunday scaries but not anymore because I’m in complete control of my week now. I just posted some REAL SHIT on my blog about my thoughts on student debt and the status quo. Like does a degree that’s antiquated in today’s market warrant such crippling debt? Is there a bubble?

Check out my latest post and let’s discuss!🤓
