DIY: Hanging Flower Garland

Major wall envy.

A branch, twine and your favorite bouquet is all you need to create this bold + chic floral backdrop.

A pretty easy DIY- but be prepared to carve out some time as it does require patience and commitment.

The in-season greens + florals were found at my local Whole Foods and the branch was found on the tree in the parking lot, ha. I have always LOVED the idea of a flower wall and I had no idea where I was going with it when I started, I just went with it.

Making your garland is easy. Start off by tying a knot at the top of the branch with your twine. Use floral clippers or scissors to cut the floral to your liking, and then knot the stem.

I left some spaces in between my greens/florals because I like the sparse look. Totally up to you.

To hang on the wall, I tied twine about 8-9 inches from the tip on each end (this helps with weight distribution. Originally I had the twine at the end of each branch but it bowed and almost snapped when I hung it.

I secured the hanging garland on the wall with a white thumbtack. & that’s it! A whimsical cascade of florals.

  • RELATABLE Y/N??? Spending some quality time with myself tonight working on some content that I’ve been putting off for a while. Anyone else go through creative dry spells? When I feel uninspired I spend a lot of time meditating and disconnecting from outside influences to clear my mind🧘🏼‍♀️💭 Well, I feel laser focused now and I’m excited to start writing again- it gives me such purpose and fulfillment☺️

  • I’m back👋Spent much needed time offline to restructure my goals and focus on work and family. I feel mentally refreshed and more present in the moment which was one of the biggest things I was struggling with. I needed to take a step back and enjoy what was in front of me instead of always looking at my next move. Im grateful for all of the opportunity this year has given me and I feel all of the clarity, light and success coming in 2019!✨💫
